Welcome to Chapter Leader MentorSHPE!

The Chapter Leader MentorSHPE track offers the opportunity for new leaders of SHPE chapters to receive experienced guidance as they navigate their new role. 

Please note that at this time, we are only offering the program to chapter President and Vice President positions. Future expansion to other leader roles is being considered.

Mentors who have served as Chapter Presidents or Vice Presidents and are willing to engage to help share their experiences and listen and offer insight into the mentee goal development and progress. 

Mentees are new Chapter Presidents or Vice Presidents who want to work on goals for the chapter as well as their own personal goals for leadership development. 

Mentees and mentors are paired in a  virtual one-on-one three month long connection based on factors such as leader role, chapter size, goal areas for new chapter leaders and experience areas of mentors to support those mentee chapter goals. Participants are also encouraged to participate in cohort events to broaden their network beyond the one-on-one mentoring partner connection. 

Timeline of Program Commitment for Fall 2024:
August 1 - 19: Mentors and Mentees Sign Up and Complete Profile 
August 21: Mentor and Mentee On Demand Training Released
August 28: Mentor and Mentee On Demand Training Participation Due
September 3: Mentor and Mentee Connections Released 
September - November: Connections Active 
October 16 @ 8pm EST: Mid Point Motivation and Networking Workshop
